When God is Silent

Does God seem silent? I was reminded recently that in the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus felt the Lord’s silence in response to His cries and indeed, Jesus was inside the will of God.

Similarly, in our waiting, sometimes God can feel silent. We don’t know what to do next. We don’t know where we’re headed. Maybe we’re even restless and frustrated with where we are, and are begging for some clarity. But the response from God is the same: Silence.

If you’re wondering what the silence means, silence in response to your prayers could mean that you are right where you should be in the will of God, and that God is not ready to reveal your next step or insight.

What do you with the silence? Perhaps as Jesus did: Stay put. Stay faithful. Remain with Him. Watch and pray.
